Verdatum terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Verdatum website and service. By using either, you accept these terms.

Who we are

Verdatum is a trading name of The Coln Group Ltd. The company is registered in England and Wales under company number 09788225. Its registered office is 3rd Floor, 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE.

These terms form an agreement between you and The Coln Group Ltd. Email support@verdatum.ai with questions.

What these terms cover

These terms cover:

• the public website at verdatum.ai
• the hosted Verdatum MCP service, which maintains source-backed organization profiles for use through supported AI assistants

If your organisation has a signed agreement with The Coln Group Ltd, that agreement prevails where it conflicts with these terms.

The privacy policy explains how we process personal data and forms part of these terms.

The service is for organisations

Verdatum is a business-to-business service. Access is contracted at organisation level. You may use the service only when a contracted organisation has authorised you.

Every customer organization (the tenant) is entitled to the core intelligence domain. It may additionally be entitled to life_sciences across every profile in that tenant. Domain entitlement is separate from source, jurisdiction, record-type and freshness coverage; an entitled projection can still report partial, unavailable or unsupported coverage.

The service is not directed at children.

Access and your responsibilities

You connect through a supported AI assistant using credentials verified by our authentication provider. You are responsible for:

• keeping your sign-in credentials secure
• requests an authorised AI agent makes using your access
• telling your organisation's administrator and us if you think your access is compromised
• checking source references, coverage and limitations before relying on a profile claim

Your organisation is responsible for its authorised users and their use of the service.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• access the service without a current entitlement
• try to bypass authentication, entitlement, rate limits or other technical controls
• test the service for vulnerabilities without our written agreement
• place load on the service that is intended or likely to degrade it for others
• extract profile data systematically to build a substitute product or dataset
• remove source references, limitations or usage notes when you share profile data
• use the website or service unlawfully

Organization profiles

One organization profile describes one confirmed organization. It can contain typed projections for ownership and governance, filings and financials, public markets, sanctions, intellectual property and entitled life sciences.

Profiles are durable. Each projection is published as an immutable version that keeps source evidence, coverage, freshness and limitations attached to its claims. Verdatum refreshes projections on its own cadence and publishes a new version when the content changes. It operates no hosted monitor: you read the profile on your own schedule and compare projection-version identifiers to detect change.

Verdatum does not offer organization discovery by attribute, cross-organization ranking or investment recommendations. Other organizations found in a profile remain source-backed intelligence. They need their own independently resolved profile if you want Verdatum to assess them as the focal organization.

The public workflow does not let callers select providers or invoke standalone source operations. Verdatum chooses declared source contributions behind each typed projection and reports their coverage and limitations.

Third-party data sources

Verdatum builds profiles from public registers, regulatory systems, patent offices, research databases and licensed providers. Each profile keeps the source attached. This has 3 consequences:

• source attribution and usage conditions travel with the data
• licensed providers can restrict redistribution outside your organisation
• the source controls its records, availability and correction process

Some profile links are name-derived rather than confirmed identity links. The profile says when this applies. Patent applicants and recorded assignments are not proof of current ownership. Sanctions candidates are not designation decisions. The intellectual-property projection reports trademarks as a typed unsupported gap rather than an empty collection.

What profile data is and is not

Verdatum provides source-backed information. It does not provide advice.

• profile data is not financial, investment, legal, tax or accounting advice
• accuracy and freshness depend on the cited source and assessment time
• a usable profile can have disclosed gaps
• an empty collection is not proof that a fact does not exist
• a difference between two projection-version identifiers shows that a new version was published; it does not establish why an unreported fact did not change

Check decisions that matter against the cited source and obtain professional advice where needed.

Storage and your data

Verdatum stores organization identity, projection versions, their embedded evidence and private execution records. It stores no subscription, comparison cursor or record of which organizations your organisation reads. The privacy policy states each retention period and the tenant offboarding process.

We do not claim ownership of your organization clues or of public source records. You may use profile data within your organisation for its business purposes, subject to source conditions and your contract. These terms do not let you resell the service or provide it to third parties.

Availability and changes

We use reasonable skill and care to operate the service. These terms do not promise uninterrupted availability. Any agreed service levels appear in your organisation's signed contract.

The initial service can change before version 1. We will notify contracted organisations before a material change reduces their agreed access.

Suspension and termination

We can suspend or withdraw access when reasonably needed to protect the service or comply with law. Reasons include a security incident, a suspected breach, a source requirement, a legal requirement or the end of your organisation's contract.

Where practical, we contact your organisation before or promptly after a suspension. Source attribution and redistribution conditions continue to apply to data you already received.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

Subject to that:

• the website is free general information, provided as is
• we are not liable for errors in third-party source records
• we are not liable for decisions made from data supplied with its source and limitations
• we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of business opportunity
• a liability cap in your organisation's signed agreement applies to the service

Changes to these terms

We will publish changes here and update the date at the top. We notify contracted organisations before a material change takes effect.

Governing law

The law of England and Wales governs these terms. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about the website or service.
